National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) are premier vocational training institutions operated under the Directorate General of Training (DGT), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India. The primary objective of NSTIs is to impart instructor training for Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the country, thereby strengthening the national vocational training ecosystem.
This institute was established in 1982 as the Model Industrial Training Institute (MITI) at Choudwar, Cuttack, within the campus of the Institute of Textile Technology, a Government of Odisha institution and renamed as National Skill Training Institute (NSTI), Bhubaneswar in the year 2018-19.
